Context
Solsis wants people to hang out
Solsis believes social media has lost the plot. It proposes a simple fix - no ads, no AI, no influencers, just facilitating connections with people you'd rather see in person. They came to us pre-launch, needing a brand and website to signal that they were trustworthy, in touch with culture, and untethered by the conventions of modern social media.
Approach
Building the identity and landing page
The requirement: authenticity. Simple, but difficult to execute. With a social media platform, we need to do more than evoke trust. Users need to feel compelled to associate themselves with the brand. The audience here (primarily Gen-Z) is acutely sensitive to "trying too hard", a transgression that tends to rear its head via loud ideas. So, the exercise was finding the "not too much" zone, where the biggest impact emerges from subtlety.
Drawing from founder Jack's affinity for outer space (hence the Solsis name) and a logo concept he drafted, we landed on an intentionally soft galaxy symbol in the shape of an "S", and paired it with a chunky wordmark that feels weighty but almost malleable. Combined, they form a logo lockup that commands attention with its weight, but also evokes a sense of play in its determination to avoid rigidity.
The typography, palette, copy voice, and art direction are thoughtfully tuned to feel relaxed and grounded, and intentionally avoids lofty clichés of tech branding. The website became the perfect vessel to express the brand, adding motion and interactivity as new dimensions of Solsis' look and feel. See it all in action at https://solsis.io/.

Thank you from front yard
To Jack and Don for trusting us with the foundations of Solsis. It's a privilege to come in at this point of a company, when the canvas is blank and the sky is blue, and just dream up possibilities. Excited for your launch. See you on Solsis.
